Philadelphia Works, Inc., the city’s Workforce Development Board, will receive the Outstanding Equality Program award at the Philadelphia Inquirer’s inaugural Diversity & Inclusion Awards Gala on Wednesday, November 13. The gala celebrates local business leaders that impact the region through innovative diversity programs and inclusive workplace initiatives.
Nominations for the Diversity & Inclusion Awards were submitted by Inquirer readers earlier in the year and judges selected from 100+ nominees a total of 21 awardees across seven categories.
“Leadership and staff at Philadelphia Works have made very intentional progress around diversity and inclusion,” said H. Patrick Clancy, president and CEO at Philadelphia Works. “We pride ourselves on fostering an inclusive workplace environment that reflects the diversity of our city, and correspondingly ensure that our programs connect a diverse talent pipeline of career seekers to employers, training opportunities, and practical career pathways. We are honored to have made the list among many of our workforce colleagues, partners, and friends.”
The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, November 13, from 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Crystal Tea Room in Center City. The event will kick off with a networking cocktail hour, followed by a keynote presentation by Sulaiman Rahman, president and CEO of DiverseForce, LLC., a formal dinner, the awards ceremony, and conclude with closing remarks and a dessert reception.
