Matthew Hutton

Matthew is the Senior Research Analyst on the Data Performance and Labor Market Information Team, where he provides expert analysis of program and labor market data, using research to inform policy, implementation, and performance. His work seeks to improve the performance of the workforce system in mitigating existing injustices and in improving economic outcomes for Philadelphia residents.

Prior to his current role at Philadelphia Works, Matthew worked in economic development and commercial real estate, consulting local and state governments on the formation of public-private partnerships. His research has been used by national workforce organizations and academic institutions to solidify policy positions and advance economic justice. Matthew holds master’s degrees in City and Regional Planning and Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
