Women Can Connect to a High Paying Career in the Trades
Schneps Media, the owner of Metro Philly, is hosting a webinar with Women in Nontraditional Careers (WINC) that will provide information, guidance, and support for women and girls considering a high-paying career in the trades on February 2, 2022, at noon.
Women in nontraditional careers often earn more than women who have earned a four-year degree, graduating without debt and earning more over their lifetime. Unions and employers are actively seeking more women to enter trades careers in the Philadelphia region.
WINC will showcase its career exploration and training resources, and participants will learn how to stay connected to the organization going forward. By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Discover if the trades career is a good match for you or the women in your life
- Become familiar with the trades career exploration and training resources available from WINC
- Know how to stay connected to WINC for future career exploration and training opportunities
Tureka Dixon, a glazier with Local 252 and the recruitment coordinator for the Finishing Trades Institute, and Sue Hoffman, the senior associate of innovation at Philadelphia Works will be speaking.
