Philadelphia Works, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transit Authority (SEPTA), Collegiate Consortium, and EDSI collaborated to plan and implement public transit boot camp programming. The goal of these programs is to prepare candidates for career pathways within this industry.

The first cohort focused on electro-mechanical and power career pathways. Collegiate Consortium provided technical skills training, with 11 students graduating. Several students have either tested or are scheduled for interviews with SEPTA.

The second cohort was a four-week boot camp focusing on operations career pathways, to become drivers and conductors. Students in this cohort are in the active job search with SEPTA, Durham Bus Services, and other transit employers.
