The Women in Nontraditional Careers Initiative (WINC) is pleased to announce its 2024 WINC Summit.
The Women in Nontraditional Careers (WINC) Summit will be held on Saturday September 14th at the Finishing Trades Institute in Philadelphia, PA from 8:30 am-3:00 pm.
The Summit will include a series of engaging workshops and panels, guest speakers, and opportunities throughout the day to network with a dynamic group of industry stakeholders all working towards a shared goal of increasing women’s access to and retention in the skilled trades.
This event is for those who are interested in advancing gender equity in the skilled construction, manufacturing, transit, and utilities industries in the Philadelphia region. Industry stakeholders such as tradeswomen, labor leaders, unions, construction registered apprenticeship programs, manufacturing employers, project owners, contractors, subcontractors, local/state/federal agencies, educators, and community-based organizations are welcome to attend. Women in Nontraditional Careers (WINC) is a Philadelphia regional collaboration to grow the number of women in construction, manufacturing, and transit careers. Founded in 2018 WINC is now led by tradeswomen, contractors, union representatives, and allies from PhilaPOSH, AFL-CIO of Philadelphia, SEPTA, and Philadelphia Works, with technical assistance provider Chicago Women in Trades and funding from the US Department of Labor.
